NAIROBI, Kenya – According to numerous Kenyan websites, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade was blocked on his way from the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) by a man holding a banner asking for a job.

Uvinalies Nyabuto held up the motorcade, showing a banner reading: Your Excellency, kindly offer (me) a chance to join the (Kenya) Defence Forces. Am (sic) sorry for (the) disrespect (meted upon) your security.’

Uhuru was returning from the 9th African Caribbean and Pacific Summit of Heads of State and Government

Nyabuto was arrested for his trouble and his placard confiscated. He was taken to Kilimani Police Station.

It is not unusual to see young people in Kenya walking around with placards asking for employment. Some do get the attention of potential employers this way.
