The first part of the 10,000 World Cup container houses that Qatar will send to Turkey is on its way, it was reported by local media with images appearing online. During the 2022 World Cup fans were paying $200/night to stay at these container homes.
A written statement about this donation was also made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
In the statement, it was noted that Qatar will send 10 thousand container houses to the regions affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria as part of its relief efforts.
In the news in the official Qatari agency QNA, it was stated that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Thani, ordered the establishment of an “air bridge” to Turkey.
A team from the International Qatar Search and Rescue Group would arrive with the airlift, it was stated that this team would establish a field hospital, bring humanitarian aid, materials to combat winter conditions and tents.
