Italy overtakes Iran in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases

The number of confirmed cases of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) in Italy has already surpassed the number of confirmed cases in Iran. This is reported by Johns Hopkins University project.

According to the data on the morning of March 4, 2502 cases were recorded in Italy, while in Iran – 2336. Thus, the European country came out third for the first time since the outbreak and is now second only to South Korea and China.

An outbreak of coronavirus was first recorded in late December 2019 in Wuhan, China. In total, on March 4, more than 93.2 thousand people were infected. Of these, 3.3 thousand died, and more than 50 thousand were cured.
