Russian P.M. Mikhail Mishustin infected with COVID-19

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin became infected with a coronavirus, RIA Novosti reports .

Mishustin informed President Vladimir Putin about this during a video-conference meeting. The prime minister added that he would self-isolate. At the same time, Mishustin said that the government will continue to work normally, and he will remain with colleagues and the president on telephone and video communications.

Putin wished him well. “I think you will remain in the same good shape, take part in the development of decisions to support citizens,” the president said. He also asked Mishustin to call him from the hospital.

Judging by the publications on the government’s website, the last time Mishustin held a face à face meeting with members of his office on March 31. According to official figures, the prime minister last met personally with Putin on March 24.

Over the past day in Russia, more than seven thousand new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected. The total number of cases of infection has exceeded 100 thousand.
