Russian PM Medvedev and entire government resigned several hours after Putin’s message to the Federal Assembly

The Russian government resigned. This was reported Russian news agency TASS.

During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Medvedev said that he considered such a decision to be correct against the backdrop of proposals made by Putin to amend the Constitution.

The Russian leader thanked the Medvedev government for the work and instructed him to fulfill his duties until the formation of a new cabinet. According to Putin, he is satisfied with the results.

” Not everything was done, but it never works out in full ,” Putin said.

The President of Russia announced plans to introduce the position of deputy chairman of the Security Council and offered this post to Medvedev.

Earlier, the Russian leader noted that the country does not need a new Constitution, however, according to Putin, a number of changes need to be made to the existing Constitution of Russia

The current government, chaired by Medvedev, was formed on May 18, 2018. This team includes 10 deputy prime ministers, including one first deputy prime minister, and 22 ministries.
