Poland promises to treat Ukrainians with coronavirus free of charge

A million-strong Ukrainian community in Poland can count on free medical care in an emergency. “ Everyone who is hospitalized with suspected coronavirus infection is guaranteed free testing and treatment. They are covered from the budget of the Polish state, ”Andrusiewicz said in a comment to Ukrinform.

Ukrainian Ministry of Health informed on Friday about the death of a 71-year-old resident of Radomyśl in the central part of the country who was infected with coronavirus. This is the first first death associated with coronavirus ( Covid-19) in Ukraine.

On March 1, the woman returned to the country after a stay in Poland. On the way, she stopped in Lviv, where she visited relatives. The 71-year-old was diagnosed with the virus on Thursday. Her first symptoms appeared on March 3.

On Thursday evening, medical authorities reported that the relatives of the woman were under medical observation and had no symptoms of the disease.

Three cases of coronavirus have been registered in Ukraine so far. The authorities in Kiev have decided that from Sunday Ukraine’s borders will be closed to foreigners.

The number of infected in Poland today increased to 68, of which one person died.
